Set up for Roland modules is very simple. Just pick the proper pad type for each instrument, change the recommended parameters, and adjust sensitivity to your playing if necessary. Sensitivity will vary depending on how hard you play. If you're a light player, sensitivity will be higher. If you're a heavy hitter, sensitivity will be lower. To adjust the sensitivity, pick the pad type first, then strike the trigger you are setting up as hard as you will ever hit it during normal playing. The meter should barely peak on the hardest strikes. This will give you the most dynamic range, or variation between soft and loud notes.

1. For Snare drums , it is important to adjust head sensitivity , rim sensitivity and cross stick settings to suit your playing. Stock settings with the specified pad type should work extremely well, but you may want to tweak.

2. Ride cymbals when used with ECSTAD adapter to not require Bell adjustment.Y-cable Ride set ups may require Bell threshold adjustment to suit your taste. The higher the threshold on the bell the harder you will have to hit it to get the Bell sound.

3. Many of the settings here are defaults (stock). We have included all settings so that if you have altered your settings, you don't have to initialize your module.(reset to factory defaults). If you have set up different drum sets within the module you would have to program all custom sets again (sounds). The trigger settings are Global. This means that once you set the trigger settings for 1 set, you don't have to do it again. The trigger settings will remain the same for each drum set you set up with different sounds. The TD8, TD10, TD-12 and TD-20 have 4 trigger settings banks. This means you can use a bank for your electronic kit, a bank for your acoustic kit with triggers, and not have to change all trigger settings on the module each time you switch sets.
