I've got it hooked up to my laptop using the new Alesis IO Trigger and I'm using Battery 3 to generate sounds. It's been also a hit with my band mates as well. We just did a gig this past weekend and they loved the versatility. For "Riders on the storm" I had rain on the splash and thunder on the splash choke. This was a great effect. We also do some Santana tunes and I was able to just press one button on the trigger IO and had congas in place of the toms. I looked at the Roland kits before buying one of your kits and I thought that your kits were much better. The drums are all larger and more like acoustic drums so the playing is more natural. I also think that the rack and hardware is much sturdier. The Studio Master has been an excellent replacement for my old acoustic kit. I think that you folks put out an excellent product. The packaging the kit arrived in was first rate. The stainless steel rack, heavy clamps, stands, and mounting arms are second to none. Everything looks great and is well made. No light duty stuff. I bought the prodigy w/DM5. All mesh heads with a lower price than other brands with gum heads. I'm running a double kick pedal and it responds great. I purchased the set for home use. I have never owned any edrums before and I've been playing for about 17 years, but recently I moved into a townhouse and still wanted to keep playing. I went to a few local music stores to look at edrums, but for what I wanted it looked like I was gonna have to pay $4500 or more. Then I read a few reviews and threads on Hart Dynamics. You know that line "It sounds too good to be true"? Well that's exactly what I was thinking when I saw the prices, but I ordered anyway. I got my Studio Master 6.4 kit and it blew me away. I have it hooked up to a TD-10 w/TDW-1 and WOW. They feel no different than my acoustic set (not like those "Tennis Racket" heads that Roland uses). The whole kit was not much more than what my buddy paid for a Roland TD-6 set up w/rubber pads, and I got a much better brain and real mesh heads that feel GREAT! Michael K.-River Grove, IL On Friday my DS-HP6.4 set arrived with the TD-8 module. I am an intermediate drummer who has been playing on and off for 20 years. I have had the pleasure of banging on a lot of different sets, but nothing compares to my new Hart set. I am very impressed with everything that Hart offers with the set. Honestly, I thought it would be fairly complicated to get up and running - BOY I WAS WRONG. In following the easy to read guide, provided with the Hart set, I was up and playing within a few hours. On the first strike of the snare I was very impressed with the feel, dynamic and response of the mesh drum head. I was equally impressed with the rest of the drum and the Ecymbals as well. I am so glad I didn't spend the extra money on an over priced competitor set of electronic drums. Out side of the set I was very impressed to see the quality control packing list filled in by hand and signed by hand. All of the parts listed were with my set. Overall on a scale of 1 - 5 with 5 being the highest I give the Hart team a 10 for providing an outstanding product, that is reasonably priced, that was packed and shipped with care. I learned to play drums through my involvement in my local church about 15 years ago. I played in church and in a couple of small-time bands over the years. Later I got married, had a couple of children, moved to a small house, and found that I just didn't have the time or the space to play anymore. So, I sold my accoustic kit to my church at a very low price. I later realised that I may never have the money to buy an acoustic kit again. I had purchased a DM5 a few years ago, but was never able to obtain a trigger kit here in New Zealand. Then, last year, I came across your web site. I saved and purchased what I consider to be a great value kit, the Prodigy kit. The idea was that I could use it with my DM5 so that I could at least practice at home with headphones on. A year later, I am playing with a 4-pc originals band, using the Prodigy at every gig. Every time I play, people marvel at the Prodigy kit, remarking that they have never seen anything like it. So here I am, back enjoying making music, and it's all pretty much down to you guys. I am sure that if I hadn't found Hart Dynamics, I would not be doing what I love. To give you a little background (I'll try to keep it short) I'm having a bit of a mid life crisis (turning 40 soon) & have always been frustrated playing drums. I started out in the school marching band at 5 years old & it seemed that practice was only allowed when no one was home. Otherwise there was the proverbial knock on the door with a "I have homework to do", or later "the kids are sleeping". I'm sure you can see what I'm getting at. Now in the works are 3 more videos (including one being directed by a known Hollywood director) and a feature length movie about the band in the vein of "Spinal Tap." Dennis C.-N/A Forgive my dilatory response to your last missive, but I've been too busy playing my new Hart Dynamics GigaPro to respond. Thanks so much for all of your advice on expansion options. I've got a good idea of the next directions to go in as time (and funds!) permit. It's difficult to find the vernacular to sufficiently express my vivid astonishment toward such a product. I've played for nearly thirty years, on all kinds of acoustic sets in lots of different environments, and I'm not usually one at a loss for words, but the GigaPro is everything and so much more. I was reluctant to turn toward 'electronics', being by nature somewhat of a Luddite, but I found myself wishing for an anytime set with due consideration for the rest of the neighbourhood. I wanted an acoustic set that I could play through headphones. Boy, did you fellows give me a lot more! The kit is real in every sense of the word, and as aesthetically appealing to an audience as any traditional kit. But in the actual playing is where I'm really taken aback. The response, the 'bounce', from the heads that keep a drummer's inertia and momentum going in fluid dynamic is the most surprising. Speed is (almost) effortless. Those that I routinely play with are at least as surprised and pleased as I am. My new drums are the biggest eye-opener I've seen in many years. A simple, "Thank you!" seems too little to offer, but I don't know what else to say. When I play along with songs like Rush: Earthshine, or Jethro Tull: Hunting Girl, I can't actually believe I'm really doing this! You guys are great, and I'm glad I found you. I began playing drums at the ripe old age of 33. I'm now 40 and have only had a set of accoustics till about a month ago. I sat down at the local guitar center at a set of Roland V sessions. I loved the play and the sound, but not the price. I found out about Hart as they were selling a set of prodigy's there too. I liked the sessions and found out through your website which set would be best for me. As a novice I didn't need the best setup, but when you get older, your wallet expands so I had to let some of that out! I found a set of GigaPros' and a Roland td 10 at a local church sitting. I made an offer and now I AM HOOKED. They play equally as well as the rolands and the cymbals are far superior to Rolands. I think that this is the most fun I've ever had with my clothes on. Wish I would have started in my teens to play but was always dissuaded by a lazy music teacher at school. The clamps are amazing. Thank you. With my last edrum kit I had to slide the clamps right off the bar in order to modify/upgrade the kit, but these clamps were so easy to take on and off. Also, having gotten used to plastic clamps and mounts, I actually giggled like a little kid opening a Christmas present when I saw what I got with my new kit. Those things are great! I simply cannot tell you how impressed I was when I finished assembling the kit and saw it sitting there in my living room. Unlike all of the other edrum drum kits I've seen, this kit looks like a professional instrument rather than a simple toy. The drums and the frame are both beautiful and stylish - the kind of style that does not look out of place sitting next to something like a grand piano. I was originally skeptical about how the mesh heads of the drums themselves would feel, but they felt really nice. The snare drum is the best feeling E-snare I've ever used. Whenever I get the chance I've been telling people about you guys and how you snuck up on the big corporations and are now IMHO the industry leaders - that is, the company who sets the standards for the marketplace. In fact, the entire set has a very acoustic-drum feel, so much so that I keep worrying how loud I am playing and worry about waking up the neighbors. Of course, they don't even hear it since I am wearing headphones. The snare is fixed (parameter adjustment) too. No step function volume increases any more. I was impressed, having never owned any of your products before. The rave reviews I kept hearing on www.vdrums.com got me to try your stuff out, along with some recommendations from friends. Today, I received my new ECS Hi-Hat and played it for the first time. It was unbelievable! I'm serious here, there is nothing out there at any price that I've tried that is as good. I have tested the Roland CY-12HH, the Ddrum hat, Pintech, etc. and nothing comes close. The thing that really blows me away is that I got these hi-hats for $xxx from Drum World online. That's even less than the useless Pintech Zenbals! I have to say with all sincerity that I believe the only reason every electronic drummer isn't using your products over the competition is that they just don't know how good your stuff is. Somebody has to get the word out, though, because the ECS hi-hat is head and shoulders above anyone else's offerings. I've been playing drums for almost 25 years, and electronics for about 6 now. I've owned Roland, Alesis, Drum Tech, Pintech, and tried everything else. I'm thinking that you not only get my business from now on, but you've got a free mouthpiece in Seattle. However, after reading the many favorable comments on the E-drum forums about your products, and talking with Erik (Sep Drums), I decided to go with the Hart Pro 6.4 and the TD-8. It is everything I wanted, and more. You have an excellent product. I was concerned about the heads, not having tried them, but they are terrific. They are certainly much better (and less spongy) than Rolands. I certainly believe that if more drum stores carried a set of your Hart Pro's, you would have difficulty keeping up with the demand. They look so good and play so well I can't even type the words. The rack is killer. Nothing moves, nothing. Even at the slightest tension you need to unclamp to adjust things, and the polished steel is the perfect compliment to the hammered metal. The ride and HH cymbals are equally impressive, they not only play great, but add to the overall look of the kit. I bought the Multipad and TMC-6 last week and played with it over the weekend. What a great unit! I'm glad I talked with you folks before making my decision. I've played drums since I was 9, and I can't stop playing these drums. I wake up at 3 am to get a drink, and I sit down for a quick session with headphones. I have to buy a new thicker padded throne because my butt hurts. I never had that problem with my real drums. I haven't touched my X-Box, the PC is neglected, Cable is now a waste of money and the DVD collection is getting dusty. All I can say is, thank god I have no children to attend to. They (the drums, not the children) assembled easily, both physically and technically. You weren't kidding about the heavy duty rack. WAAAAAY more sturdy than the Roland racks that come apart when you bump them. The Acusnare and pads sound awesome through my sound system. My friends can't wait to get together for some jam sessions. Our drummer loved it and thought it much better than other electronic drum kits he has played. (forward from customer)-N/A Hi Guys, I just wanted to drop a few lines of praise for Hart Dynamics in Florida.These guys rock! I bought a Yamaha DTX 2.0 kit about a year and a half ago, and was fairly happy with the kit early on. I'd bought it for practice and the odd band rehearsal, not for performing out in clubs. All was good until I actually started rehearsing with the band. The cymbals hard plastic bases under the rubber covers turned out to be fairly brittle and cracked almost immediately. I contacted Yamaha who did send me a replacement, which also cracked a short time later. I now had very little confidence that I'd ever be able to play this kit without feeling like I should "hold back" on the intensity. I had saved for a long time to get this kit and thought I had made a big mistake in buying it. Recently I saw an ad for Hart Dynamics Series Ten electronic cymbals and decided to call them up. I spoke with Paul, who after hearing of my experience with Yamaha's product, recommended their Crash and Ride models (with lifetime warranty) at a great price! These cymbals absolutely rule! After I adjusted my module for cymbal type,pitch,decay,and reverb my bandmates jaws literally dropped! I'm now getting ready to order a bass drum unit and a snare! I have an Alesis DMPro and at the time was using a Roland PD120 for the snare(expletives removed) and Pintechs as toms (a step up from the old Simmons Plywood feel), Roland PD7 and 9 for crash and a Visulite ride. Roland BD and HH triggers. The Acupad was a good price and I was looking for a better feel. I couldn't believe the difference. The triggering kicked the heck out of the Pintechs and Roland (drek). Since I had a bought all the other pads just a few months before I bought the Acupad I was forced to wait a bit to replace them all with Hart stuff. If the Professional Drums trigger half as good as the Acupad, Roland better run for cover. I just sent an email to sales to find out when they are going to start shipping(if they haven't already) as I am dying to try one out. I took the pad off and left it in my drum room while I took my drum set to church for worship team practice. I came home late that night and my ADC pad was laying on the floor next to my 8-year old daughter's bed. She told me that it looked like a "foot pad" and she'd been walking on it! I have not tested it since her "test" so I'm wondering if you think her walking on it will damage anything? I checked out the pad yesterday, and it still works great! Erik A-n/a I talked to you the other day about your ADC's and ACUSNARE. I bought a conversion set-up, an Accu-Snare and a DM Pro for my Recording Studio's Premier acoustic kit. We just got things going this weekend, and I am very impressed with how things are going. We really only had to mess with the triggering on the kick drum and snare rim. We did a little tweaking to the output configuration and away we went. The drummer in my band actually likes the feel of the Accu-snare better than an acoustic snare. This stuff works great. I'll be adding Cymbals as soon as budget permits. Thanks for the advice, I'm recommending this set-up to every drummer that comes through my studio. It makes recording a clean mix almost ridiculously easy. I'm very impressed with the DM Pro already, I can't wait to add the update. I was not too sure about giving up my acoustics for the electronics, but did not have much choice because my hearing has been "going south" for some time now and I'd decided it was either get something I can control the volume levels on or quit. I play a set with the rubber pads at church and didn't want that; but the feel of this set is superb and the sounds from the Roland module are awsome in both quantity and quality. FYI, I got the package on Friday and was able to start reading the material at 7pm. I was able to set up at the club at 4:30pm Saturday. I had my drums, your triggers, (already glued on), the Alesis D5 module, a fostex 12 channel mixer and one mic for my highhats. 2 hours later I was ready to roll. All I had to do when the band set up was plug the mixer to the PA and set the sound level. There were other drummers in the house that night and all came withcompliments. I have the fastest Bass foot in Sacramento and the trigger picked up all the double kicks. I was crusing along in 7th heaven until the 3rd song when I noticed the trigger on my floor tom had come loose and was bouncing around. I didn't hit the tom for the rest of the song and had to grab some duct tape but that always works. The rest of the night was great and we had girls dancing on the tables! I really feel good about the purchase of your triggers. I don't feel bad about the anxiety I had. I really want a good sound. Now I feel I have the best sound in town. Thanks & good luck to you. Having tried out every major brand on the market at several of the stores here in Cincinnati, I can say that they are as good or better than sets costing twice the price. The series X heads were worth the extra investment! They don't wear out your wrist like the gum rubber type pads and they work great. It took us a total of 2 hours for the initial set up, which was a lot less than expected. (that included changing things around several times for our regular drummer so that it was suited for his playing style). The E-Cymbals are incredible. From the congregation, they look and perform like the real thing. (A lot of people commented on the volume of the drums being lower, and could not figure out why the cymbals were so much quieter than before!!) Thanks for all of your help and recommendations. Mark C..-N/A Mr.Hart, ..the Series FIVE pads by the way are far more superior in all around feel, tracking, and especially isolation from false triggering. If you remember our conversation I told you I am using the ddrum4 for a sound module and XXXXXX pads with an accoustic snare( miked) and a accoustic kick (triggered ) I was having to run the thershold up to about 38 out of 100 to stop false triggering because as you know the ddrum4 has no crosstalk feature. That is also with no floor monitor I am using the inear monitors. With the Series FIVE pads I have dropped the theshold to 13 out of 100 an that makes a world of differance.The pads feel better than any pad out there , we had some time before sound check the other day so we stopped at a music store that happened to have a ddrum4 kit an a Roland V drum kit. Both me and the FOH tech agreed your Series FIVE pad smoked them both . If you have any small acupad stickers for kick drum heads I would like to have one if possible( in black). Matt M.-N/A I am currently easing myself into the world of electronic drums, and I've been messing with a lot of pads to make sure I get the right stuff the first time out. I had purchased two XXXXXX Cast Percussion pads for use with a ddrumAT to serve as timbales or cowbells or whatever and then use an acoustic snare and toms and bass. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with their performance at all. There was pretty much no way I could get them to work correctly with my ddrumAT and I had all but given up on the world of electronic percussion until I decided to drop some extra cash for the Acupad FIVE (dual-zone). Wow, what a difference.. the Acupad V just plain outclasses the XXXXXXX Cast Percussion pad. Between how well the Acupad V feels and how good the ddrumAT sounds, I decided to just remove my snare drum from my kit and use the Acupad FIVE instead. Good job! Rob-N/A ..when it comes to e-drums. You the man! Loyce E-Dallas ,TX I must say that I am also the proud owner of your Hart Triggers, and they have lived up to everything expected and more. I have been asked by many percussionist in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area after each show if they can see I have gotten the sound quality, after they see Hart and the sizes they are amazed and want to know if I would set them up for them, but you know sometimes you like being special ( read between the lines). Rob O.-Pittsburg, PA Product endorsements are usually given by big name players with the hope that if you like the drummer, you will buy the brand that he / she plays. In many cases the players are given the product so that the manufacturer can attach a recognizable name to their roster to promote sales. I am not a big name player, but I feel that I have the most important requirement to make a real product endorsement and that is years and years of experience. I have set up and torn down my drum set thousands of times, I have owned or tried almost every brand of drum, stand, cymbal, stick, case and pedal ever made and I tried them the hard way. I paid for them, sometimes it’s a great product and it works great, other times you find that the ad company was very creative and I got sucked in by a promise and the product was lousy. I recently decided to buy a set of Electronic drums so I could play at home without the volume problem of my acoustic drums and cymbals. I did not expect to really like the drums ( compared to acoustic ) but they would serve my need. In my research I came across Peter Hart and Hart Dynamics. I asked (via the internet and in person phone calls ) dozens of questions, very in depth specific questions, since I did not own electric drums yet I did not understand many of the things about routine settings and generally how they work. Peter Hart was extremely patient with me, answered ALL of my questions and more, pointed out the differences in Acupads , Acusnare and Ecymbals without trashing what the competition is selling. I went to the music stores and played on the “V” drum pads and the Yamaha pads, I read the product review in “Stick it “ magazine and after all of the testing I bought the Acupad Custom “B” set and added a few extras and coupled the set with a Roland TD10 brain and hh pedal. I could not be happier with my new drums. The Acupads are very heavy duty, the Ecymbals are nothing short of amazing and the Acusnare IS a real snare drum, in looks and feel.
